Box Score COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The Husson University baseball team has advanced to the North Atlantic Conference championship game after a 7-4 victory over the host of SUNY Cobleskill on Monday afternoon at Fighting Tiger Park.
It took the Eagles (23-15) three batters before taking the lead as junior Joshua Scott scored thanks to an RBI single from sophomore Jackson Curtis. The Fighting Tigers (21-19) tied the game in the third to make it a 1-1 game after three.
In the fourth, sophomore Austin Snow with a blooper to right field to bring home two and make it 3-1 Husson. SUNY Cobleskill would make it a one-run game again but three runs in the sixth inning broke the game open as the Eagles won, 7-4.
Sophomore Harrison Lendrum started the contest on the mound for the Eagles as he went five-plus innings and recorded a strikeout an inning. Senior Jake Gregoire and sophomore Ryan Robb took over in relief to close out the victory for the green and gold.
It's off to championship Tuesday for the team as they will take on the winner of SUNY Cobleskill vs. Thomas College tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. The Eagles just need one win tomorrow while the winner of the Tigers and Terriers will need to beat the Eagles twice to claim the crown.
