Box Score 2 BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University baseball team stretched their winning streak to ten games with a North Atlantic Conference sweep of the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers on Saturday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Diamond. The Eagles won game one, 11-2, in seven innings before winning game two, 13-3, in nine innings.
The Eagles (19-15, 11-1 NAC) scored three runs in the second and third inning en route to a 11-2 victory over the Beavers (8-23, 6-8 NAC) in game one. Freshman Tanner Evans led the offensive charge as he went 4-for-4 as he drove in two runs. Freshmen Tyler Michaud and Ty Knowlton each drove in two runs for the Eagles while sophomore Jackson Curtis also drove in two runs with one via a moonshot over the tree in left field.
Senior Cam Graham pitched a four-hitter through seven innings as he struck out three.
Like game one, the Beavers opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning. The Eagles responded with 13 straight runs to record the game two victory. Evans continued his hot day at the plate as he had three hits and four runs driven in while Knowlton drove in two runs on three hits. Senior Nick Swift and Michard each had a two hit game with an RBI. Sophomore Alex Smith went five-plus innings as he struck out three.
Freshman Ryne Rametta, senior Jake Gregoire, and sophomore Ryan Robb combined to give up three hits in three-plus innings of work.
The baseball team will look to complete a series sweep of the Beavers tomorrow as the two teams will face off in a pair of seven inning games starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Harold Alfond Diamond. Prior to game one, the Eagles will honor their seniors.
