Box Score 2 BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University baseball team scored 69 runs this weekend as they completed a four game North Atlantic Conference sweep of the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls on Sunday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Diamond. The Eagles won game one, 14-5, and game two, 16-1.
Junior Joshua Scott delivered a grand slam in game one as the Eagles (14-15, 6-1 NAC) won the first game by nine. Sophomore Jackson Curtis and junior Austin Snow each drove in two runs while senior Kobe Rogerson recorded four hits.
Sophomore Chris Naylor started the contest and lasted over an inning before freshman Matt Wallingford and senior Jake Gregoire each pitched two-plus innings and only gave up one hit. Ryan Robb struck out the side in the seventh inning.
Game two saw the Owls (6-22, 3-6 NAC) take the lead in the first inning before the Eagles leveled the game at one in the second inning. Husson went on to score 15 unanswered runs including eight in the third.
Freshmen Tanner Evans and Ty Knowlton each with four runs batted in while Curtis drove in two. Snow, Rogerson, Knowlton, and junior James Lubanski each with three hits.
Freshman Connor Abood pitched four solid innings of work only allowing two hits and striking out four. Freshman Ryne Rametta and senior Hunter O'Connor combined to pitch a perfect three innings.
The baseball team gets tomorrow off before returning to the diamond on Tuesday when they close out their NAC series with the Terriers. Tuesday's doubleheader will take place at Ryan Field in Waterville with game one set for 1:00 p.m.
