Box Score STANDISH, Maine - The Husson University baseball team had one final tuneup before their final 12 North Atlantic Conference matchups as they traveled to Larry Mahaney Diamond as they dropped a 5-2 result to Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday afternoon.
Husson (9-15) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as senior captain Tyler Parke singled to right field with the bases loaded to score sophomore Austin Snow and freshman Ty Knowlton.
The Monks (20-11) scored a run in four straight innings to come from behind to win the contest.
Senior Alex Smith started the contest for the Eagles as he went two innings before six pitchers combined for the final six innings. Senior Evan Holzworth, sophomore Ryan Penney, sophomore Zain Fitzsimmons, freshman Bradley McLaughlin, freshman Ryne Rametta, and senior Hunter O'Connor combined to allow six hits and strike out four.
It's back home for the baseball team as they host Thomas College for a conference doubleheader tomorrow starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Harold Alfond Diamond.
