Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Husson University baseball team scored three runs in three different innings as they defeated the Bowdoin Polar Bears, 11-4, in non-conference action at Pickard Baseball Diamond on Monday afternoon.
After a scoreless first inning, the Eagles (9-14) got on the board first as freshman Ty Knowlton doubled in fellow freshman Tanner Evans.
Sophomore Jackson Curtis continued his mashing of baseballs in the third inning as he homered for the third time in three games with an opposite field homer to extend the lead. Later in the inning, Evans doubled to right field to score senior Kobe Rogerson and make it 4-0 Husson.
Bowdoin would score two runs in the bottom half of the third but the Eagles responded with three of their own in the fifth inning. Sophomore Austin Snow singled to score Curtis then Rogerson scored on a passed ball followed by a sacrifice fly by Knowlton to make it 7-2.
Bowdoin would make it a three run game but the Eagles would cap off the scoring by adding four runs in the final two innings for the victory.
Freshman Connor Abood started the contest for the Eagles as he went three-plus innings and allowed two runs on four hits. Sophomore Chris Naylor was called upon from the bullpen and closed out the game by allowing two runs on eight hits.
The baseball team will head back home for a North Atlantic Conference doublehead with the Terriers of Thomas College tomorrow starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Harold Alfond Diamond.
