Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's lacrosse team dropped a 27-9 North Atlantic Conference contest to the Mariners of Maine Maritime Academy on a rainy Wednesday night at Boucher Field.
Maine Maritime (4-5, 3-1 NAC) opened the scoring but senior Gunner McAllister responded and tied the game at one before the Mariners scored six unanswered goals. Down a man, senior Jaden Wells scored his 100th collegiate goal late in the first quarter as the Eagles (4-10, 1-4 NAC) trailed by seven after the first.
The Eagles added three goals in the second and third quarter as McAllister completed his hat trick as he now has 44 goals on the season while Wells, freshman Sean Lyne, and sophomore Danny Carter each scored a goal and an assist in that span as MMA led, 24-8, with 15 minutes remaining.
Junior Matthew Boynton capped the scoring off with his second of the game as the Mariners earned the victory.
Senior Bryan Wagg made nine saves between the sticks for the Eagles.
The men's lacrosse team returns to Boucher Field on Saturday as they host MCLA in a conference matchup at noon as the team will honor their seniors prior to the contest.
