Box Score 2 NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Husson University baseball team took a trip down to Mitchell College for a doubleheader as the Eagles were swept by the Mariners on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles (4-8) dropped game one, 10-2, before being shutout in game two, 5-0.
The Eagles held the lead twice in game one but the Mariners (10-4) were able to respond both times and claim the victory.
Junior Joshua Scott powered the offense with a RBI double in the first inning then he scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.
Senior Cam Graham made his third start of the season as he struck out three and allowed three runs on four hits. Sophomores Harrison Lendrum and Zain Fitzsimmons, freshmen Matt Wallingford and Connor Abood, as well as senior Hunter O'Connor all saw action in relief in game one.
Game two saw the Mariners score twice in the second inning and never looked back as they shutout the Eagles.
Senior Chris Naylor made the start and lasted two innings as he allowed two runs on four hits. Sophomores Alex Smith and Ryan Robb as well as senior Jake Gregoire came from the bullpen and made an appearance. Senior Kobe Rogerson led the offense with two hits.
The baseball team returns to the diamond on Saturday when they take on Endicott College for a doubleheader starting at noon at North Field in Beverly, Mass.
