Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's lacrosse team opened North Atlantic Conference action on a rainy Saturday afternoon as they fell to the SUNY Canton Kangaroos at Boucher Field by the final of 24-15.
Husson (3-7, 0-1 NAC) scored the opening goal thanks to a snipe by junior Matthew Boynton for his tenth of the season from sophomore Danny Carter but the Roos (2-5, 1-1 NAC) responded with six goals. The Eagles scored two goals in a thirty second span in the final minute of the first quarter as senior Jacob Larochelle won the faceoff and a deep pass to Carter who tucked the ball home then Boynton picked up his second of the game as SUNY Canton led, 6-3, after 15 minutes.
In the second quarter, the team would exchange goals before SUNY Canton rallied off five straight goals and held a 12-5 lead at the half. Bailey scored both goals for the Eagles in the quarter.
It was an even second half as the Roos outscored the Eagles, 12-10, to wrap up the victory.
Senior Darryn Bailey led the Eagles attack with three goals and two assists while Carter had three goals and an assist. Seniors Jaden Wells and Gunner McAllister each tallied a hat trick. Senior Bryan Wagg made ten saves in net for Husson.
The men's lacrosse team returns to the field on Friday when they face off against SUNY Cobleskill in New York with the opening faceoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
