Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson University baseball team returned to action on Wednesday and dropped a 8-3 non-conference game to the Colby Mules (3-0) at Coombs Field.
The Eagles started the scoring in the first inning scoring two runs on two outs thanks to RBI singles by senior Ethan Stoddard and freshman Tanner Evans.
The Mules responded scoring two runs in the first then four in the fourth and one in each the fifth and sixth to take a 8-2 lead.
Eagles would grab one more run in the seventh as sophomore Akira Warren doubled to score sophomore Austin Snow but the Mules would hold on for an 8-3 victory.
Senior Hunter O'Connor got the start on the mound as he pitched the first inning and allowed two runs while striking out a batter. Freshman Ryne Rametta, senior Evan Holzworth, sophomore Ryan Penney, and senior Logan Sheridan pitched in relief for Husson.
The Eagles are scheduled to be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Austin Prep in Reading, Mass., to take on Lesley University for a doubleheader with first pitch of game one scheduled for noon.
