DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Husson University women's basketball team returned to its winning ways on Friday rolling past King's College (Pa.) 73-43 in the final game of it's Florida Sunshine Shootout.
Husson (7-4) wasted very little time taking control in Friday's non-conference meeting opening up a 17-5 advantage following the opening quarter of play.
King's (1-11) battled the Eagles close in the second quarter, but Husson won the quarter 20-14 to carry a 37-19 edge into the halftime break.
The second half would be all Eagles as they limited King's to just 24 second-half points while putting up 36 of their own.
Junior
Bailey Donovan led the way for Husson scoring a game-high 22 points and grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
Graduate student
Vanessa Duarte finished with double-digit points, scoring 13 while sophomore
Hannah Richards added 11 points and four assists.
Donovan also tallied four blocked shots in the win as Husson shot over 41 percent from the floor and 81 percent from the free-throw line.
Sophomore
Sophia McVicar finished with seven points for the Eagles and freshman
Laela Martinez collected a career-high five boards.
Husson finished the afternoon with 21 assists and only nine turnovers, while forcing King's to commit 26 turnovers for the game.
The Eagles return to action on Jan. 6 when they host SUNY Delhi at 5:30 p.m.
