BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University field hockey team have advanced to the New England Collegiate Conference championship game after a 8-0 victory over UMaine-Farmington in the semifinal round on Saturday night at the Winkin Sports Complex. With the victory, the Eagles earned their tenth win of the season while the Beavers finished their season at 1-13.

Senior Adelle Foss opened the scoring four minutes into the contest before freshman Lauryn Brown scored her first collegiate goal to give Husson a 2-0 lead after the first.

The second quarter was the Teagan Blackie show as the junior scored three goals and guided the Eagles to a 6-0 lead at halftime. Freshman Maddie Perkins also scored in the quarter on a pass from Foss.

Sophomore Allie Drew scored in the third quarter before junior Rylee Poulin put home her first collegiate goal en route to the 8-0 victory.

Senior Kimmie Goddard played the first 45 minutes before sophomore Rileigh Andre took over for the fourth quarter and neither goalie faced a shot.

The field hockey team will return to action tomorrow for the championship game and their final game of the season as they will host New England College at the Winkin Sports Complex with the contest set for 3:00 p.m.
