STANDISH, Maine – The Husson University women's basketball team outscored Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 39-27, as they came from behind to defeat the Monks, 63-57,on Saturday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Center.
The Eagles (3-2) and the Monks (2-2) played to a back-and-forth first quarter as the lead changed hands five times during the first ten minutes of play before junior guard
Carly Price would make a three-pointer with 2:33 left in the opening frame to give Husson a 13-12 lead after one quarter.
St. Joe's would start the second quarter strong as they opened on a 10-3 run to take a six-point lead and would take a 30-24 lead into the locker room.
The Eagles would bounce back in the third quarter as they started the half on an 11-5 run to knot the game back up at 35-all, but the Monks would take a one-point lead into the final period as they outscored Husson 9-8 to end the third quarter.
The fourth and final quarter would be all Eagles as they overcame the one point deficit and turned it into a six point victory thanks to a 20 point fourth quarter.

Hannah Richards had nine first half points en route to 12 points while junior
Bailey Donovan recorded a fifth consecutive double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Graduate student
Vanessa Duarte added 15 points and sophomore
Sophia McVicar provided nine points and five rebounds from the bench.
The team will take Thanksgiving week off from competitions and return on Tuesday, Nov. 29th when they take on Bates College in Lewiston with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
