BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team fell to Maine Maritime Academy 3-0 on Saturday evening in North Atlantic Conference action.
MMA (13-2, 3-0 NAC) took a 1-0 advantage following a 25-14 set one win, but Husson (8-8, 3-1 NAC) rebounded in the second set taking a 4-1 early lead before opening up a 16-11 edge.
The Mariners, however, closed out the set on a 14-4 run to take the second set 25-20 and a 2-0 match lead.
In the third set, MMA opened up a commanding 11-3 edge early and led 16-4 before Husson went on a 10-4 run to pull within 20-14, but the Mariners closed out the match with a 25-16 set three decision.
Senior
Cheyenne Young finished with a team-high nine kills for the Eagles, while sophomore
Alyvia McIntyre tallied 14 assists and seven digs.
Graduate student
Amber Lemay tallied a game-high 13 digs in the loss.
Husson returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Lyndonville, Vermont for a 1 p.m. conference matchup against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.
