JOHNSON, Vt. - The Husson University women's soccer team record four first half goals as they defeated Northern Vermont-Johnson by the final score of 7-0 in North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday night.
It didn't take long for the Eagles (6-6-1, 5-0-1 NAC) to break down the Badgers' (0-5-4, 0-2-3 NAC) as senior
Alexa Thayer was able to find her fourth goal of the season in the seventh minute. Senior
Charlotte Messer continued the scoring by putting two goals in within a minute span with the first goal assisted by Thayer. Sophomore
Natalie Aviolla put home a goal to round out the scoring in the first half.
In the second half, it was much of the same. Junior
Lindsey Russell scored her fourth goal of the season before Messer added her third goal of the game and fifth of the season. Aviolla added her second of the game and 11th of the season in the final ten minutes of the contest as the Eagles take the three points with a 7-0 victory.
Freshman
Madison Weigler was in goal for the first 66 minutes before sophomore
Sami Orest replaced her for the final 24 minutes as the Eagles defense didn't concede a single shot.
The western road trip ends tomorrow as the women's soccer team will travel to SUNY Canton for a NAC contest starting at 1:30 p.m.
