GORHAM, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team fell to the University of Southern Maine 3-1 in its regular-season finale on the road Wednesday.
Southern Maine (5-18) gained a 1-0 advantage following a 25-12 set one victory on Wednesday.
Husson (11-10) evened the match 1-1 following a 25-19 set two win, but the Huskies won set three 25-20 to take a 2-1 edge before ending the match with a 25-15 set four win.
Senior
Cheyenne Young finished with a team-high 12 kills and added 13 digs for her ninth double-double of the season.
Sophomore
Alexa Beal tallied 11 kills with a .429 attack percentage, eclipsing the double-digit kill total for the first time in her collegiate career.
Fellow sophomore
Alyvia McIntyre posted a 27-assist, 11-dig double-double for the Eagles and graduate student
Amber Lemay tallied a game-high 15 digs.
Additionally, graduate student
Adrienne Beatty surpassed Sami Hibbard with her nine digs over the preceding two games for tops on the all-time career digs list, breaking the previous record of 1,009 digs.
Husson returns to action on Saturday when it battles Northern Vermont University-Johnson in the North Atlantic Conference East Division Semifinals hosted by Maine Maritime Academy at 3 p.m.
