PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - The Husson University women's volleyball team closed out their North Atlantic Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon in style as they picked up a 3-1 victory at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
It was a close first set as the Owls (3-17, 3-4 NAC) led for most of the set until the Eagles (11-9, 6-2 NAC) would pull away in the middle of the set with five out of six straight points en route to a 25-20 first set victory. The second set saw the Eagles win the first two points and they never looked back for 25-14 victory. It was the Owls who won the third set, 25-19, before the Eagles put the game to bed with a 25-17 victory.
The Eagles was led by senior Cheyanne Young with 27 kills and 14 digs while sophomore Juila Leavitt recorded a double-double with 15 digs and ten kills. Sophomore Alyvia McIntrye added 41 assists and five service aces while senior
Adrienne Beatty also earned five service aces.
One final match to close out the regular season for the women's volleyball season as they will travel to Gorham, Maine to take on the Southern Maine Huskies on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
