HENNIKER, N.H. – Senior
Katie Perkins scored two goals as Husson field hockey improved to 5-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play with a 5-2 victory over New England College on Saturday morning at Don Melander Field.
The Eagles (8-5, 5-0 NECC) started fast as a goal by junior
Teagan Blackie gave Husson the earlier edge. The Pilgrims (9-6, 2-3 NECC) quickly evened the game back up as senior Drea Chin put home her 16th goal of the season.
The two teams continued their evenly matched first half into the second quarter as the Eagles regained possession of the lead on Perkins's 5th goal of the season. However, NEC responded again as senior Alivia Proulx put home a shot on a feed from Chin and the game remained tied at the half.
Husson came out of the halftime break firing on all cylinders as sophomore

Adelle Foss scored back-to-back goals within the span of a minute to give the Eagles a 4-2 lead.
Katie Perkins added a penalty shot goal in the fourth quarter and Husson's defense held strong to hang on for the win.
Perkins led the Eagles offensively with her two goals and five shots on goal, while Foss tallied three shots on goal in addition to her goal.
In net for Husson, senior
Kimmie Goddard made just one save on three shots on net.
The Eagles will return home and be back in action on Sunday, October 30th, as they will host the University of Maine at Farmington at 1 p.m. at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex. Prior to the game Husson will honor its senior team members.
