WATERVILLE, Maine - Freshman Maddy Perkins scored twice as the Husson University field hockey team extended their shutout streak to three games with a 3-0 victory over Thomas College in New England Collegiate Conference action on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles (6-5, 4-0 NECC) took a one goal lead into halftime as Perkins scored her first goal of the contest in the middle of the first quarter. The Eagles dominated the Terriers (5-7, 2-2 NECC) with seven shots to their two after 30 minutes.
The Terriers found their attacking presence in the second half but goals from freshman Kyla Havey and Perkins in the third quarter put the game out of reach for their conference rivals. Senior Kimmie Goddard made eight second half saves to record her fifth shutout of the season.
The field hockey team hits the road for the final time this regular season on Saturday when they visit N.H. to take on New England College in a conference matchup set for 11 a.m.
