FARMINGTON, Maine - The Husson University field hockey team recorded their second straight shutout after a 7-0 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington Beavers on Tuesday afternoon at Prescott Field in New England Collegiate Conference action.
The Eagles (6-5, 3-0 NECC) owned the pace of the play for the whole contest as the Beavers (1-8, 0-3 NECC) held the Eagles scoreless for the first ten minutes before junior Teagan Blackie put home a pass from senior Leigha Carrier.
In the second quarter, it was the Perkins show as three goals by the sisters made it 4-0 at halftime. Senior Katie Perkins scored twice including a penalty stroke goal while freshman Maddie Perkins scored from her sister.
The second half saw both seniors Jessica Hart record her first collegiate goal and Mallory Fairbanks recorded an assist for her first point since 2019. Freshman Avery Baker also scored her first collegiate goal in the second half.
The field hockey team continues their three game conference road trip on Sunday when they travel to Waterville to take on Thomas College for a Sunday afternoon matchup at 4 p.m.
