BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team concede in the 75th minute as they played to a 1-1 draw with the University of Maine at Presque Isle at Boucher Field on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference action.
It took until the 35th minute for the Eagles' (5-6-1, 4-0-1 NAC) offense to find a breakthrough as senior
Alexa Thayer drove a cross into the box and found sophomore
Natalie Aviolla who took a touch before beating the keeper as the Eagles led 1-0 at the break.
Despite the Eagles firing 28 shots with 13 on goal; it was UMPI (3-2-4, 2-2-1 NAC) who was able to capitalized on a defensive miscue to tie the score in the 75th minute. The Eagles pushed everything forward for the final 15 minutes but were unable to find the winner.
The women's soccer team gets a week off from matches until they make their longest road trip of the season as Saturday, Oct. 8, they will visit Northern Vermont-Johnson before taking on SUNY Canton the next day in New York. Kickoff for Saturday's North Atlantic Conference fixture is slated for 3:30 p.m.
