BANGOR, Maine - Three different players scored to lift Husson University past New England College, 3-0, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) field hockey action on Saturday morning at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.
Sophomore
Karlie Ramsdell kicked off the scoring for Husson (4-4, 1-0 NECC) with her first goal of the season off a senior
Leigha Carrier feed in the fifth minute. Senior
Katie Perkins was credited with an assist on a senior
Adelle Foss goal at the 42:46 mark. Junior
Teagan Blackie capped the game scoring by giving the Eagles a three goal advantage when she tallied her first of season approximately five minutes later.
Husson held the leads in shots (15-14) and shots on goal (9-4), while New England College (6-4, 0-1 NECC) held the advantage on penalty corners (9-7).
Senior
Kimmie Goddard record her second shutout of the season while making four stops. Her counterpart, graduate student Jackie Mountford was credited with six saves in the setback for the pilgrims.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow when they travel to Brunswick to face the nationally ranked Polar Bears of Bowdoin College. The game is slated to begin at at 1 p.m.
