Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team had a 5-0 set back to the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Saturday afternoon at Boucher Field. With the win, the Huskies move to 3-0 on the season vs. all North Atlantic Conference opponents while the Eagles fall to 1-1 on the young season.
The first twenty minutes of the game were even then the Huskies found the breakthrough as Ciera Berthiaume was on the receiving end of a through ball and she took two touches then scored. Huskies added a second right before the halftime break thanks to Lakyn Hink. In the second half, Southern Maine added three goals en route to the victory.
The best chance for the Eagles to break the clean sheet came in the 80th minute as Sophia Mullins' free-kick from 25 yards out hit the crossbar and on-rushing Kate Harriman was able to get to the rebound but headed it just wide.
The women's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday, September 8th when they host Colby College at Boucher Field with kick-off at 7 p.m.
