Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team opened North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Saturday afternoon at Boucher Field with a 4-0 shutout of UMaine-Farmington. The Eagles' record improves to 2-2-0 while the Beavers record falls to 0-4-0.
The Eagles opened up the contest on the front foot and earned their opener in the 11th minute when Sophia Mullins delivered a 20-yard pass over the top to Molly Ennis and she chipped the keeper to score her first collegiate goal. In the 19th minute, Charlotte Messer set up Bri Saulter who took a touch before going across her body to double the Eagles' lead heading into the break.
In the second half, it continued to be all Husson as Mullins came down the left and delivered a low pass to Katie Raymond and she put it off the post and in for her first collegiate goal. Sydney Drew put the icing on the cake when Megan Buddemeyer stole the ball down the left flank and sent a perfect pass to Drew and she powered home from inside the six yard box.
In goal, Hannah Kenney earned her first collegiate shutout without facing a shot.
Women's soccer will close out their four game homestand with a visit from Bates College on Tuesday, September 14th with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
