Box Score 2 WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson University baseball team (18-6, 18-2 North Atlantic Conference) closed out their conference schedule with a split versus Thomas College (9-8, 8-6 NAC) on Sunday afternoon at H. Ryan Allen Field. The Eagles dropped the opener, 15-7, but came back with an 18-5 victory in game two.
GAME ONE: Thomas 15, Husson 7
Thomas opened the contest scoring four runs in the first three innings highlighted by runs batted in from Aaron Young, Jacob Perry, and Bradley Smith.
The Eagles responded in the top of the fourth as Evan Holzworth singled to left center field as Ethan Stoddard and Chris Ewanik scored. Thomas took back their four-run lead and more as they scored five runs in the bottom half of the inning thanks to homers from Kyle Gleason and Shane MacNeill.
Husson fought back with their own five-run inning in the fifth. Tyler Parke scored on a wild pitch to start the scoring. Ethan Stoddard smacked a double to right center field to score Austin Baron and Austin Snow. Brandon Smith scored on the next at bat as Jackson Curtis singled. Holzworth capped off the scoring in the inning with a sacrifice fly to send home Stoddard.
Thomas led 9-7 heading into the bottom of the fifth, and scored six more runs to earn the game one victory.
ON THE MOUND
Hunter O'Connor recorded went 2.2 innings and allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out three. Cayden Dupras earned the loss after pitching an inning as he allowed four runs on two hits. Four pitchers finished the game for the Eagles and allowed six runs on six hits.
Ryan Scepansky also received went five innings and allowed seven runs on six hits. Jacob Lacroix closed out the game for the Terriers and picked up his second win of the season. Lacroix allowed one hit in the final two innings.
OFF THE BAT

Holzworth drove in three runs to lead the Eagle offense.

GAME TWO: Husson 18, Thomas 5
Thomas was up 3-0 when the Eagles scored four runs in the third inning. With runners on the corners, the Eagles attempted a double steal as Holzworth was able to score the opening run on a misthrow. Austin Snow, who stole second on the play, would score on the next at bat as Arika Warren singled to left center field. David LeBlanc capped off the scoring with his second homer of the season as he hit a two-run blast to right field. The Terriers responded in the bottom of the inning with a homer of their own from Young to tie the game at four.
The Eagles followed up the third inning with another four-run stanza in the fourth. Curtis, Nick Swift and Snow loaded up the bases and were given a free base after Warren walked to help Curtis score. LeBlanc brought everybody home with a triple to left field and the Eagles led 8-4 after four innings.
In the 6th inning, the Eagles put the game to bed and earned themselves a series victory as they scored eight runs on seven hits en route to a 16-5 triumph.
ON THE MOUND
Jesse Colford made his first start of the season and went two innings while giving up three runs on four hits. Brandon Brunell got his second victory of the season as he pitched over three innings and allowed two runs on five hits. Ryan Penney and Zain Fitzsimmons closed out the game for the Eagles by combining for a no-hit 1.2 innings.
Nick Howard went four innings and earned the loss after allowing eight runs on four hits and walking five. John Villanueva pitched over an inning and allowed six runs on seven hits. Chandler Moran finished off the sixth for the Terriers and gave up the final two runs on a hit.
OFF THE BAT

LeBlanc helped out with a three-run triple and a two-run homer to pace the Husson offense.

MacNeill drove in two runs on two hits.
