Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's Lacrosse team picked up a 17-2 win over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division action on Saturday afternoon at Boucher Field.
IN THE ACTION:
The Hornets jumped out an early 1-0 advantage when Taner Onor found the back of the net at the 11:38 mark of the opening period. Husson responded with two late goals from Ben Huynh and Griffin Madore to take a 2-1 lead into the second quarter.
Husson (1-3, 1-1 NAC East) scored seven unanswered goals in the second stanza to push their lead to 9-1 going into the break. The Eagles received two goals from Gunner McAllister and Danny Carter, and single goals from Roman Dennis, Huynh and Jaden Wells during the second the period.
Carter and Darryn Bailey made the game 11-1 with goals at the 14:47 and 9:55 marks of the third before Luc Parrett found Benjamin Cheever, who then fired the lacrosse ball pass the Eagle keeper for NVU-Lyndon's (0-3, 0-3 NAC East) second tally of the game with 8:40 remaining in the third quarter.
Wells tallied an unassisted goal in the final minutes of the third to make the game 12-2 before Husson tallied five goals in the fourth for the 17-2 victory.
THE KEEPERS:
- Shawn Ragaglia picked up his first career victory for the Eagles in the net, while recording eight saves.
- Aaron Florence made 17 saves for the Hornets in the setback.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Carter scored a game and career-high six goals, including tying the single-game record with two man-down goals. He also added three groundballs and two caused turnovers.
- Huynh netted two goals with a groundball and two caused turnovers.
- McAllister tallied two goals and two assists with three groundballs and a caused turnover.
- Wells registered four goals and two assists.
- Dennis scooped up a game-high nine groundballs, while adding a goal.
- The Eagles set the single-game team record with four man-down goals in the victory. The previous record of two was set during the 2010 season.
- Cheever and Onor each registered a goal for the Hornets, while Parrett added an assist and had a team-high seven groundballs.

The Eagles return to action on April 10th when the host Thomas College. The opening faceoff of the NAC East Division matchup is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
