Box Score 2 BANGOR, Maine - The Husson baseball team (10-4, 10-0 North Atlantic Conference) overcame a two-hour delay and many Northern Vermont University-Lyndon comeback attempts en route to a doubleheader sweep on Sunday evening at the Harold Alfond Diamond. The Eagles won game one, 2-1, before blowing away the Hornets, 10-2, in the second game.
GAME 1: Husson 2, NVU-Lyndon 1
Game one was scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when Akira Warren shot a double down the left field line and scored two batters later on a Tyler Parke sacrifice fly to give Husson a 1-0 lead.
The Hornets were able to tie the game in the top half of the sixth when Jordan Cane delivered a base hit to center field. The tie game only lasted five batters as the bottom half of the inning brought Jackson Curtis to the plate, hitting a base hit to left center field to score David LeBlanc as the Eagles regained the lead at 2-1. Ryan Robb came into the game and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning to help the Eagles take game one.
ON THE MOUND
For the visitors, Sam Ognenoff pitched a complete game (L, 0-4) giving up two runs on six hits.
Three pitchers got the job done for the Eagles as Hunter O'Connor gets credited with a no decision after pitching five innings in which he gave up a run on three hits. Alex Brooks pitched the sixth inning and got credited with his first win of the season while Robb gets his second save of the season after a 1-2-3 seventh inning.
AT THE PLATE

Parke and Curtis each drove in a run and had a hit.

Jordan Cane went 2-for-3 and drove in the lone Hornet run.

GAME 2: Husson 10, NVU-Lyndon 2
Like the first game, the Eagles didn't open the scoring until the third inning when Nick Swift scored the first run on a Hornet error. Husson would double their lead in the next inning as Austin Snow drove the ball up the middle to score Jackson Curtis.
NVU-Lyndon would tie the game in the top of the fifth after back-to-back RBI hits from Ryder Thornton and Santaw. It wouldn't be a tie game for long.
The Eagles opened up the game in the bottom half of the inning when they scored eight runs on seven hits and batted around the order. Chris Ewanik highlighted the inning by driving in the go-ahead run before Swift, Rogerson, Warren (2), and Smith would drive in runs as well.
ON THE MOUND
For the Hornets, Codi Smith pitched 4.1 innings (L, 0-1) giving up four runs on four hits. Sean Cavanaugh entered the game in the 5th inning and recorded one out in seven batters faced as the Eagles scored six runs on four hits. Keith Herman and Cameron Flinn finished the game for the Hornets facing the last nine batters and only giving up a hit.
Seven pitchers for the Eagles combined to give up two runs on five hits and struck out nine. Alex Brooks was the Eagles' starter as he pitched the first two innings; only giving up a hit. Ryan Penny earned the victory after getting the Eagles out of a jam in the fifth inning. The Husson pitching staff shut the door for the final six outs to take the sweep, 10-2.

Warren led the offense in the second game with twos across the board. Two hits, two, runs scored, and two RBI.

Santaw drove in one run as he hit 2-for-3.
