Mike Craig Becomes Winningest Men's Lacrosse Coach in Program History with Triumph over Badgers

BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University Eagles (2-3, 1-0 NAC) dominated the Northern Vermont University-Johnson Badgers (0-3, 0-1 NAC), in their first North Atlantic Conference matchup of the season at home on Saturday afternoon, by a final score of 23-1. This win marks head men's lacrosse coach Mike Craig's 20th career victory to become the program's winningest coach.

IN THE ACTION:

Zach Glazier led Husson offensively, scoring seven total goals in the game as he became the fourth player in HU history to score 100 career goals. He opened the scoring with the first two Husson goals, while scoring three out of the Eagles' first four goals. Northern Vermont-Johnson would score their only goal with 4:59 to go in the first quarter in a man up situation out of the stick of Kyle Picard. The Badgers lone goal of the afternoon was assisted by Travis Benson. 

From here, the Eagles offensive onslaught continued, scoring four goals in the second quarter, seven in the third, and six in the fourth. Husson saw nine different Eagles record one or more goals by the end of 60 minutes.

THE KEEPERS:

In net for the Eagles, Bryan Wagg tallied three saves. For the Badgers, Patrick Bell, had 20 saves on 43 total shots. 

HUSSON HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Zach Glazier led the way with seven total goals paired with an assist.
  • Adam Littlefield contributed down the stretch, scoring four goals on eight shots, and also adding two assists.
  • Brayden Charest and Braden Olsen each contributed two goals and an assist for the Eagles for their first career points in the freshman campaign.

NORTHERN VERMONT-JOHNSON HIGHLIGHTS:

Kyle Picard scored the only goal for the Badgers, and put three total shots on goal.

Theo Trott caused three turnovers.

Patrick Bell and Noah Holmes grabbed seven ground balls apiece for the Badgers.

UP NEXT!

The Eagles get a week off, and play at home next Saturday, March 23rd, against SUNY Delhi. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
