BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University baseball team (13-21, 8-12 NAC) dropped both games in their double header with the Lyndon State Hornets (16-14, 12-4 NAC), 3-0 and 8-1, while competing in North Atlantic Conference action at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Game 1: Lyndon State 3, Husson 0

How it Happened:

The Eagles threatened in the 3rd and 4th innings with a runner in scoring position in each inning but could not push across a run.

Lyndon State had three of their four hits in the 7th inning which led to all three of their runs. They would hold onto the 3-0 lead for the Game 1 win.

• Alex Chapman (Westford, VT) Single and a stolen base in the first

• Sam Huston (Bangor, Maine) single in the fourth

• Luke Covey (Milton, VT) single in the fourth

Pitchers: Husson

• Jesse Colford (Bangor, Maine) Struck out the side in the second, 3.2 hitless innings before allowing a hit in the fourth. Took a shutout into the 7th inning before allowing 2 earned runs and 3 runs total. Recorded 7 strikeouts in the game.

Batters: Other Team

• Zak Johnson (East Hampton, Conn.) triple in the 7th

• Ryder Thornton (Essex, VT) single and an RBI in the 7th

• Codi Smith (Hartford, VT) single in the fourth broke up no-hitter

Pitchers: Other Team

• John Boulay (Dighton, MA) 6 scoreless innings. Allowed just 3 hits, no walks and had 3 strikeouts.

• Andrew Whalen (Cumberland, RI) Recorded a save in an inning of work, striking out 2.

Game 2: Lyndon State 8, Husson 1

How it Happened:

Lyndon State scored twice in the 1st inning on a passed ball and an RBI single.

They scored again in the 2nd, then added three runs in the 4th off of an RBI double and 2 RBI triple.

The Eagles scored their first run of the day in the 4th. The Hornets answered back with two more insurance runs in the 6th. The 8-1 lead would stand for the Game 2 win.
