BANGOR, Maine-- The Husson University Baseball Team (7-11, 3-3 NAC) swept a doubleheader against the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers (5-10, 2-4 NAC), 2-1 and 6-3, in NAC action on Tuesday afternoon at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.

Game 1: Husson 2, UMaine-Farmington 1

How it Happened:

The Eagles started off the scoring in the third inning as Alex Chapman (Westford, Vt) reached first base on a fielding error and Mike Wong (Lewiston, Maine) and Tyler Young (Old Town, Maine) scored to give the Eagles a 2-0.

Jimmy Parks (Springvale, Maine) cut the Eagles' lead in half in the bottom of the 5th inning with a RBI-single, but it was not enough as the Eagles would win 2-1.

Pitchers: Husson

• Tommy Burns (Eddington, Maine) (W, 2-1) pitched seven innings and allowed a run on seven hits and struck out four and walked three.

• Chase Malloy (Madison, Maine) scored a run.

Game 2: Husson 6, UMaine-Farmington 3 (9 Innings)

How it Happened:

Beavers started the scoring in the first inning when Riley Chickering lined an RBI-single as UMF took a 1-0 lead.

Nate Pushard doubled the lead for the Beavers in the sixth inning as he flied out to right field to score Chickering and make it 2-0.

Husson took the lead in the top half of the 7th inning starting with Stefen Strachan (Nassau, Bahamas) scoring on a wild pitch. Chapman tied the game with an RBI-single. Luke Covey (Milton, Vt.) gave the Eagles the lead with a sacrifice fly to score Wong.

Beavers tied the game in the seventh as Parks hit an RBI-single to score Tyler Flayhan (Sanford, Maine).

Eagles regained the lead in the ninth as Covey started it off with a RBI-single. Covey then went on to steal second and distract the pitcher as Huston scored to make it 5-3 Husson. Ryan Hoogterp (Old Town, Maine) finished off the scoring as he hit an RBI-single to left field.

• Ben Bernier (Minot, Maine) (Save #1) pitched an inning and walked one.
