Baseball Takes Two from Maine-Farmington, 5-1, 5-3

Farmington, Maine – The Husson University baseball team swept a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader with UMaine Farmington on Tuesday afternoon at Hippach Field by scores of 5-1 and 5-3.

Records

The Beavers fall to 3-20 on the year with a 3-11 record in conference while Husson moves to 20-14 overall and 9-5 in the NAC.

Game 1 - Husson 5, Farmington 1

The Beavers recorded three hits, one from Jimmy Parks and two from Mark Leahy who also had an RBI.

The Eagles notched nine hits, Cam Archer and Conor Mauire both went 2-3. Maguire added an RBI. Alex Chapman went 2-4 with two runs while Luke Covey went 3-3 with three RBI's.

Justin Rodrigue was on the mound for the Beavers, throwiong five innings, giving up six hits with two earned runs, two walks and one strikeout. Ryan Pratt threw one inning, giving up three hits and three runs with one walk and a strike out.

Austin Smith threw seven complete innings, allowing three hits and one earned run with nine strikeouts.

Game 2 - Husson 5, Farmington 3

The Beavers fell in game two by a score of 5-3. Kevin Carter got the call on the mound, throwing 2.2 innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs with two walks and two strikeouts. Tyler Flayhan threw 2.1 innings, allowing two hits and one earned run.

Tommy Burns started for the Eagles, going 3.2 innings, allowing two earned runs with two strikeouts. Cody Collins was awarded the victory after throwing a third of an inning. Jacob Gauvin threw two scoreless innings while Ben Walls got the save after throwing the seventh.

Jimym Parks went 2-4 with two RBI's while Riley Chickering went 2-3 with a run scored. Jake Bessey went 1-3 with an RBI.

Alex Chapman went 2-4 with two runs while Tyler Young went 2-2 with an RBI.
