Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

FARMINGTON, Maine – Husson University baseball (13-10, 8-2) swept University of Maine Farmington (8-10, 1-7) in a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon with a 3-1 win in the first game and 3-2 in the nightcap at Hippach Field.

Game 1, 3-1

Husson took the first lead of the afternoon in the top of the fourth inning when JT Whitten reached out and slapped a homerun over the right field fence. The Eagles added one more in the frame from Christian Corneil to claim a 2-0 advantage.

After Husson tacked on one more run in the top of the sixth, UMF answered in the bottom of the frame with its lone run. Tom Grady broke up a no-hitter with an infield single and then moved into scoring position after a wild pitch. Grayson Beressi launched a fly to center and after the catch, Grady moved to third and then came home to score after the throw sailed wide of third base.

Game 2, 3-2

The second game was similar to the first as the two squads were scoreless until the fourth inning when the Eagles cracked a two-run double from Ryan Rebar. UMF bounced back in the bottom of the inning when Ben Keene scored on a passed ball and then Jordan Croteau tied the game with an RBI single two batter later.

Husson produced the final run of the afternoon in the top of the fifth inning after forcing a UMF error.

The Eagles are back in action as they travel to Colby-Sawyer for a four-game series this weekend starting at 1:00 p.m Saturday and 12:00 p.m. Sunday. UMaine-Farmington hosts Lyndon State this weekend for a four-game series as well.
