BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer program fell to Colby-Sawyer 2-1 in a North Atlantic Conference Semifinal on Wednesday afternoon at John P. Boucher Field. 

Husson knocked on the door early as they had five shots within the first ten minutes of play. Brooke LaBelle and Taylor Fortin had header opportunities as well, but could not capitalize which kept the score at zero. 

In the 22nd minute, Abbie Sansoucy took a shot that rocketed off the cross bar for the Chargers second opportunity of the game. After twenty minutes of battled play, Rachel Quaye knocked in a ball from Molly MacLure in the 42nd minute to give Colby-Sawyer the 1-0 lead going into the halftime break. 

Just two minutes into the second half Mollie Roy evened the game on a pass from LaBelle making it a 1-1 tie in the 47th minute. Play remained quiet for the next twenty-two minutes until MacLure found the back of the net in the 69th minute over goalkeeper Kayla Gordon to give them the 2-1 lead. 

The Eagles put on the pressure in the remaining minutes, but the Chargers held on for the 2-1 victory to head to the NAC Championship.

For the Eagles, Fortin and Hibbad totaled four shots each, while Roy and Hannah Clough had three. Kayla Gordon had three saves in the loss. For the Chargers MacLure and Sansoucy had three shots and Lizzie Jorgensen contributed two shots. Sam Mitchell had eight saves and was credited with the win. 

The Chargers will face the winner of New England College and Castleton in the NAC Championship game. Date and time TBD.
