BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University field hockey team pick up a 6-3 victory over Castleton in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division action on Saturday afternoon at Winkin Sports Complex.

Husson (3-3, 2-0 NAC East) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game with goals from Mikayla Toth and Libby Kain with assists from Taylor Lovey before Castleton's (3-7, 1-1 NAC East) Emily Lowell cut the deficit to one at the 10:36 mark of the first.

Lovely tacked on another goal from Toth with just under eight minutes to play in the half, giving the Eagles the 3-1 advantage going into the intermission.

Lauren Russell scored the game-winner just 51 seconds into the second half with an assist from Taylor Shaw, but the Spartans responded with back-to-back goals from Lowell and Rachel Holland. Lowell's second goal of the game was assisted by Sarah Wells before Holland notched a penalty stroke goal, closing the gap to 4-3 at the 55:31 mark.

Russell and Shaw scored the final two goals of game at 57:31 and 65:30 with assists from Toth and Russell to secure the fourth-straight win over the Spartans.

Lovely finished the game with three points to become the 12th Eagle player in program history with 50 career points.

Meeghan Doris made 12 saves on 18 shots in the cage for Castleton, while Kaitlin Dolloff record three stops for the Eagles.

The Eagles are right back in action on Sunday at Colby for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference game.

The Spartans return to action at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday with a matchup at St. Joseph's (Maine).
