Box Score BANGOR, ME – Brandon Corbo (Merrimack, NH) and James Seager (Gilford, NH) each had milestone days leading the Husson to a 22-2 win over the UMaine Farmington on Tuesday night. Corbo record his 100th career point with a goal in the second quarter and Seager picked up a game high and school record 22 ground balls with 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The Eagles improve to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the North Atlantic Conference, while the Beavers of UMaine Farmington fall to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in NAC play.
Husson came out flying and built an early 3-0 lead with 5:27 left in the first quarter, thanks to goals from Zack Glazier, (Winthrop, ME) Seager and Derek Driscoll (Portland, ME) but the Eagles would show more of that offensive fire power as Corbo would tally his first goal of the game putting Husson up 4-0 with 1:34 left in the first. The Eagles were not done as they scored two goals in the final minute by Jack White (Marston Mills, MA) and Seager.
Glazier continued the Eagles scoring attack when he netted his second goal of the game only 21 seconds into the second quarter thanks to an assist from Seager. Husson would continue rolling when Corbo would find the back of the net again beating UMaine Farmington goalie Joseph Maldonado point blank thanks to a nice pass from Glazier from behind the net. With this goal Corbo record his 100th career point with 11:25 remaining in the first half. Corbo would score the next two goals helping the Eagles build their lead to 14-0 at half time.
Husson would score eight more times in the second half to finish off their scoring for the day.
The Eagles would finish the game with 13 players recording a point. Corbo finished with game high five goals and four assists for nine points. Glazier scored four goals and had two assists for six points. Seager had three goals and two assists for five points. Derek Driscoll had three goals, Jack White had two goals. While Trent Sell, Brooks Gay, Brandon Bosse, Brett Martin, and Marc Roy all added one goal apiece.
"We worked hard and moved the ball well, but we were also very unselfish, while the back-ups came in and made the most of their opportunities today," said head coach March Gray.
Tom Lepage and Andre Tarr combined to make 7 saves in net, while James Seager picked up a school record 22 ground balls. The previous record was set in 2009, the first year of the program.
Cameron McAlister and Tom McGowan led Farmington with one goal apiece and Maldonado made 12 saves in net.
The Eagles outshot the Beavers 56-19 and also came away with the edge in ground balls 58-33.
Husson will look to remain perfect in NAC play on Saturday when they travel to Vermont to face Castleton at 2:30 p.m.
