Box Score BANGOR, Maine - Husson rolled to its 5-straight win over Southern Maine on Wednesday night following a 3-1 non-conference victory at Boucher Field on senior day in the first match-up between the two schools since 2010. The Huskies still lead the all-time series, 9-5.
Leah Hibbad tallied the game's first goal in the 9th minute of play on an assist by Hannah Clough. When she took a nice touch pass from Clough and booted it 20 yards out pass Southern Maine (3-13) Goalie Marissa Temple for her 50th career point.
Husson (8-9-1) extend their lead to 2-0 in the11th minute when Clough fired home a shot from a through ball from Hibbad to pick up her 4th goal on the season.
Hibbad scored her second of the game and her team leading 10th goal on the campaign in 65th minute when she broke away from the Huskies defenders and manged to fire the ball pass a diving Temple into the left hand corner of the net for a 3-0 lead for the Eagles.
Southern Maine scored their lone goal of the game in the 84th minute off the head of Ariana Davidson. Davidson's team leading third goal of the season was setup by a free kick by Analies Ross-Dyjak.
Kayla Gordon and Jordyn Hopkins combined to make one save in the win. Temple tallied 10 saves in the loss.
The Eagles out shot the Huskies 25-5.
The green and gold will trek down to Castine on Saturday, October 31st for a North Atantic Conference Championship Quarterfinal match-up with #3 seeded Maine Maritime. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Southern Maine will close out their season on Saturday when they host Rhode Island College for a 1:00 p.m. Little East Conference game.
