Box Score NASHUA, N.H. - The Husson University field hockey squad defeated Rivier University on Monday evening by score of 7-3 in non-conference action at Raider Field.
The Eagles tallied the first five goals of the game. Elizabeth Terry had the first goal, while Kerianne Downing and Taylor Shaw scored the next three before Kayla Royer added the fifth goal for Husson (5-6) in the first half. With about four minutes left to play, Rivier's (2-11) Jordan Parece was able to get the Raiders on the board as Linsey Roth collected the assist.
MayKate Sweeney scored her fourth goal of the season as the Raiders closed the deficit to three goals as the second half began. However, a goal from Lauren Russell and Royer sealed the game to give the Eagles the win. Leah Ingalls would add a late unassisted goal to account for all of the scoring.
Stevie Charest made nine saves on fourteen shots before giving way to Emily Foster in the second half. Foster made three saves on five shots over the final 35 minutes.
Kaitlin Dolloff was successful on seven of 10 save attempts in the win for Husson.
Husson will travel to Castleton (Vt.) for a North Atlantic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET.
