Box Score Lewiston, ME - The Husson University men's lacrosse team had a rough outing against Bates College on Wednesday night, falling by a final score of 27-0.
"Bates College is a very good lacrosse team and they play an exciting brand of lacrosse. We were honored to make the trip down and it was a positive experience for us overall," said Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Marsh Gray.
The Eagles, who fall to 0-2 overall this season, were led by Dustin Brett (Loudon, NH), Vinny Visconti (North Andover, MA), and Brandon Corbo (Merrimack, NH) who each took five shots on the evening.
Husson's Eric Lund (Mansfield, MA) and Tom Lepage (Lewiston, ME) shared time in net, combining for 14 saves on the outing.
Jack Allard scored four goals for the Bobats (2-3) in the victory, and added 2 assists, while teammate Mark Riley grabbed three goals and one assist.
"We learned a lot about ourselves, and established an expectation of competition effort and execution for the future. I'm very proud of my coaching staff and our boys - they kept their composure and stayed positive throughout the entire game, and they played with honor and heart to the very last second," added Gray, "We are entering conference play this Saturday and I'm anticipating a bright future for this team."
The Eagles will look for a quick rebound as they will play host to their first North Atlantic Conference opponent, Lyndon State, this Saturday, March 22nd at 4:00 PM.
