Box Score FARMINGTON, ME – Taylor Fortin (Goffstown, NH) found Katie Cyr (Hampden, ME) three minutes into overtime to give the Husson University women's soccer team a 2-1 win over Maine-Farmington on Saturday afternoon at Prescott Field. The Eagles improve to 9-5 overall and 6-1 in North Atlantic Conference play while Maine-Farmington falls to 6-7 and 5-2 in league play.
Leah Hibbad (Portsmouth, RI) gave Husson a 1-0 lead in the 53
rd minute when she took a pass from
Lacey Kent-Webber (St. Albans, ME) and hit a rising shot past the keeper.
Alexandra Crocker knotted the game at one for Maine-Farmington in the 65th minute before Cyr's game-winner in overtime.
"Our team put together a complete performance and refused to walk away with anything but a win today," said Husson head coach Carly Gettler. "Leah continues to deliver up front for us, and Taylor served Katie a beautiful ball for the game-winner. Jess was solid behind our back line and I'm pleased with the determination we are playing with right now."
Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) made seven saves in net for Husson while Sam Hatch made nine for Maine-Farmington.
Husson returns to action on Tuesday when the Eagles host Colby at 6 p.m.
