Box Score Henniker, N.H. – Husson men's lacrosse fell to North Atlantic Conference opponent New England College on Saturday afternoon, 18-4.
The Pilgrims scored 5 goals in the first quarter making it 5-0 early. Chris DelGiudice (Oakland, ME) connected with Chris Pelletier (Rome, ME) for back to back goals to close the lead to 5-2, but the Pilgrims added 9 consecutive goals to put the game at 14-2 NEC.
In the 4th quarter the Eagles came back with some fight scoring two goals; the first coming from Mitch Heaps (York, PA) and the second coming from DelGiudice on a pass from Pelletier, making it just a 10 goal deficit at 14-4.
NEC responded with 4 more goals to end the game victorious, 18-4. James Putney and Adam Shute each scored 4 goals to guide the Pilgrims to victory.
Pelletier led the Eagles with 2 goals and 1 assist, DelGiudice had 2 assists and 1 goal, while Heaps added his 44th goal of the season.
Goalkeeper John Hooper III (Wakefield, RI) had 14 saves in 60 minutes of play.
"This was a tough game against a good opponent. Our whole season hs been about progress and this is another opportunity to grow as the regular season winds down," said Head Coach Sean Murphy, "Our objectives haven't changed and we have a chance for a strong finish to the regular season on Wednesday."
The #3 NAC ranked Eagles fall to 6-8, 5-2 and will travel to Thomas College this Wednesday, April 24th for their final game of the regular season.
