Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Game 1 - UMPI 5, Husson 3

Husson dropped game one of the double header 5-3, but got off to a quick start. Brandon Gendreau doubled to left in the bottom of the first putting the Eagles up 1-0.

U. Maine Presque Isle came storming back in the top of the second, scoring four times on two hits, an error and a wild pitch. Logan McLaug scored the first Owl run on an Eagle error followed by a Justin Berge single down the left field line scoring Daniel Lewis. Stephen Thor, who reached on the first error, then scored on a wild pitch. Carlos Villo rounded out the UMPI scoring in the second inning with a single through the right side as Berge crossed home plate. UMPI held a 4-1 lead.

The Eagles got onto the board once again in the third as Cody McInnis reached on a hit-by-pitch, stole second and also stole third. With two outs and McInnis on third, Pat Thibodeau singled through the left side scoring the Husson shortstop.

Presque Isle added another run in the top of the fifth on a Stephen Thor walk with the bases loaded after two hits and a fielder's choice.

Sean Smith added another run in the bottom half of the fifth for Husson, batting in Thibodeau on a single to left center. Unfortunately the Eagles were unable to score again on the afternoon and lost by the 5-3 final.

Dennis O'Neil threw six innings for the Eagles allowing five runs on eight hits along with two walks and four strikeouts. Dan Whitney came in for the final inning, giving up only one walk with two K's.

For the Owls, Dylan Worste tossed all seven innings, allowing three runs on ten hits with a walk and a strikeout.

Game 2 - Husson 8, UMPI 7

Both teams combined for 15 runs in game two as they struggled on the mound early on as Tanner Marsh opened the top of the first with a single through the right side scoring Carlos Villo. UMPI led 1-0.

The offensive story in game two for Husson was Josh Gaudette, who homered twice on the afternoon. The first of which came with one out in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 1-1. The Eagles put three spot on the board in the second, scoring on a sacrifice bunt by Cody McInnis, scoring Kyle Bishop. Kyle McLain advanced to third and Andrew Curran to second on the bunt and proceeded to score on the next play as Dylan Foster singled to center. Husson now led 4-1.

UMPI added another run of their own in the top of the third on a fielders choice that resulted in a throwing error to score Joshua Gale. 4-2 Husson.

Pat Thibodeau scored for Husson in the bottom half of the third as Andrew Curran walked with the bases loaded to push the Husson lead to 5-2.

The Green and Gold added three more runs the next inning on a Pat Thibodeau triple to left center that scored Brandon Gendreau who reached on a throwing error and advanced to third. With Thibodeau on third and two outs, Gaudette hit his second long shot of the day, which was an absolute moon shot. The score now stood at 8-2 in favor of the Eagles.

Husson's momentum and six-run lead were short-lived however, as Presque Isle put five runs on the board in the top of the fifth. Casey Estes relieved Tim Nason who was tagged with all five runs after leaving the game with the bases loaded. Estes finally managed to get Shane Smith to fly out to get the Eagles out of the jam and hold on for the 8-7 win.
