Box Score 2 Lakeland, FL – Husson baseball fell to Bowdoin College in both games of the doubleheader on Wednesday as part of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Polar Bears won 7-0 in both games.
Game 1: Brandon Reilly (Pemaquid, ME) got the loss for the Eagles in game one, pitching 4.2 innings giving up 6 hits, striking out 3. Seth Freudenberger (Bangor, ME) and Adam Landwehr (Camden, ME) came in for relief for the Eagles, Freudenberger pitched 2.1 innings, giving up 2 hits, for 1 run, and 1 strikeout.
Shawn Smith (Winterport, ME), Dylan Foster (Oakland, ME), and Josh Gaudette (Waterville, ME) saw the only offense for the Eagles getting 1 hit each.
Oliver Van Z got the win for the Polar Bears going 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 2 batters. Cole DiRober had an impressive outing, scoring 2 runs, hitting a homerun and walking 3 times. Aaron Rosen had 3 hits, scoring 1 run for Bowdoin.
Game 2: The Polar Bears saw another successful outing in game 2, scoring another 7 runs.
Tim Nason (Bucksport, ME) got the loss for the Eagles going 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and striking out 2. Kyle Bishop (Waterville, ME) and Jeremy Beers (Calais, ME) came in for relief, Bishop pitching .2 innings and Beers pitching .1 innings.
Cody McInnis (Bangor, ME) had a double for Husson, Dylan Foster, Brandon Gendreau (Brewer, ME), and Jordan Carter (Ellsworth, ME) added a hit a piece for the Eagles.
Henry Van Za got the win for Bowdoin, going 6 innings with 5 strikeouts. Dan Findley had a double for the Polar Bears, Duncan Taylo had 2 RBI, while Findley and John Lefeber added 1 RBI on the day.
The Eagles fall to 1-3 on the season and will play Keene State Thursday, March 14th at 4:00 PM.
