Box Score Waterville, ME - Maddie Tight (San Rafael, CA) scored her first collegiate goal and the Colby College defense did the rest as the Mules held Husson University to just three shots in the game in a 1-0 non-conference victory on Wednesday.
Husson drops to 1-7 on the year, while the Mules, who had a 17-3 shot advantage, improved to 3-1 overall. Colby's back line held the Eagles without a shot in the second half. Husson went more than 20 minutes without a shot at the start of the contest.
Crysti Tsujiua (Scarborough, ME) started the process on Tight's game-winning goal with 21:22 left in the contest. She pushed a ball to the right side of the 18-yard box where Tight calmly beat a defender and ripped a left-footed shot off of Husson goalkeeper Jessica Poulin (Albion, ME) and into the right corner of the net. Tight was active in the game with a game-high four shots.
Poulin stopped five shots for the Eagles, while Colby goalie Emily Brook (Duxbury, MA) had to make just two saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
Husson heads to Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday for a 2:00 pm game, while Colby will play host to Tufts University on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
