Box Score The Husson University Eagles defeated the Thomas College
Terriers 20-2 at Husson's Boucher field. In the past 3
games, Husson outscored their opponents 71-7. With the win,
the Eagles improve to 7-6 (6-1 conference) while the Terriers fall
to 2-5 (2-4 confrence).
Husson's Ben Landry (So., Lewiston, ME) scored the first
of his seven goals on the day 4:10 into the first period off an
assist by Derrick Schlimm (Fy., Hanover, PA). Landry and
Schlimm would combine for five of Husson's six goals in the
first period. Mitch Heaps (Fy., York, PA) opened the second
period with an early goal that was assisted by Landry. The
first half would end with a 10-0 Eagle lead.
The third period feature two man-down goals scored by
Husson. Ben Landry collected an unassisted man-down tally,
along with Anthony Diaz (So., Brunswick, ME) who scored just
twenty-seven seconds after Landry's goal.
Thomas College got on the scoreboard with 5:26 on the clock in
the third period when Kevin Averill (Jr., New Sharon, ME) scored an
unassisted goal. Thomas' Sean Machin (Fy., Brunswick,
ME) would reach the scoreboard again in the fourth period with 1:03
left in the game. As time expired, Husson was left with a
20-2 win.
In goal, Thomas' Jesse Morkeski (Fy., Damariscotta, ME)
collected 30 saves on 65 shots. Taylor Quinn (Fy., MacLean,
VA) recorded 10 saves in 53:41 minutes of play for Husson.
John Hooper (Fy., Wakefield, RI) tallied one save in 6:19 minutes
of play.
The Terriers travel to Emerson on April 20. The Husson
Eagles return to home action tomorrow, April 18, when the take on
Emerson at 3:00.
