Box Score BANGOR, MAINE- The Husson University men's lacrosse team
dropped a 13-7 loss to Castleton on a blustery afternoon at Boucher
Field. The Eagles suffered their first conference loss,
falling to 3-1 in the North Atlantic Conference and 4-6
overall. The Spartans improved to 2-1 in the conference and
4-5 overall.
Husson started the game with an early first quarter score,
taking the lead with an unassisted goal by
Ben Landry (So.,
Lewiston, ME).
Castleton's Craig MacDerment (Jr., Clifton Park, NY) answered
with a goal of his own with 7:50 left in the quarter. Spartan
Michael Martinez (Sr., Barrington, IL) then scored one of his four
goals on the day with 4:57 left in the first quarter to give the
Spartans a lead they would not relinquish. The first half ended
with an 11-2 Castleton lead.
Husson had a spree of five goals in the fourth quarter, with
two from Anthony Diaz (So., Brunswick, ME), two from
Calvin Dyke
(Fy., Troy, ME) and one from
Chris Pelletier (Fy., Rome, ME),
ending the game with a final score of 13-7.
Castleton's Martinez led Castleton with four goals in the
winning effort.
Ben Landry (So., Lewiston, ME) tallied two
goals and one assist for the Eagles.
