Eagles Win in OT

Bangor, ME –Amy Sanz (Jr, Tyngboro, MA) headed home the game winning goal in 108th minute to give Husson University a 3-2 (2 OT) win over Colby College.

The Eagles earned a corner off the efforts of Michelle Manning (So, Hampden, ME) with less then 2 minutes to play in the 2nd overtime. Shelby Bradford (Jr, Lee, ME) served the corner to the back post and Sanz headed it home past Loni Pisani (So, Kanata, Canada) for the game winner.

Emily Moos (Wayzata, MN) tied the game 2-2 with just under 13 minutes left in the game. The Eagles failed to clear the ball and Moos found room on the right side. Nikki Pickering (Sr, Keene, NH) netted her 4th goal on the season for the Mules other goal.

Bradford assisted on the game's first goal setting up Megan Clement (So, Brunswick ME) in front of the goal. Megan laJoie (So, Van Buren, ME) had the other Husson goal off an assist by Kylan Smith (Jr, Presque Isle, ME).

Tatyana Wolterbeek (Sr, Wells, ME) had 6 saves for the Eagles while Pisani finished with 9 saves for Colby.

The Eagles move to 12-4 and Colby drops to 4-7-1.

Both teams next play on Saturday, October 25th. The Eagles travel to U. Maine Farmington at noon and Colby host Bowdoin College at 11:00 am.
