Whitney Jones joined the Husson University softball program as an assistant coach in 2024, working with hitters. 

CAREER AT A GLANCE:
  • Since joining the coaching staff prior to the 2024 season, Jones has helped the Eagles to two North Atlantic Conference Championships, two NCAA Regional appearances and an NCAA Regional runner-up finish in 2024.
  • At Husson, Jones has helped the Eagles to a 64-18 (.720) overall record, including a 20-0 (1.000) mark in North Atlantic Conference games.
  • Jones has coached two North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year selection - Kenzie Dore (2024) and Julia Gregoire (2025).
  • Jones has tutored one North Atlantic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player - Kenzie Dore (2024).
  • Has guided one Maine College Baseball & Softball Association State Player of the Year winner - Kenzie Dore (2024).
  • Has tutored two Maine College Baseball & Softball Association All-State selections - Tori Exel (2024, 2025), Kenzie Dore (2024), Kiara McLeod (2025), Julia Gregoire (2025), Camryn King (2025) and Bulla McCabe (2025).
  • Has coached numerous North Atlantic Conference All-Conference members - Kenzie Dore (2024), Bulla McCabe (2024, 2025), Lydia Rice (2024, 2025), Julia Gregoire (2024, 2025), Tori Exel (2024, 2025), Josie Cornell (2024), Camryn King (2025) and Kiara McLeod (2025).
  • Has coached six National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region selections - Julia Gregoire (2025), Tori Exel (2025), Camryn King (2025) and Bulla McCabe (2025)
  • Has worked with three NCAA Regional All-Tournament team members - Bulla McCabe (2024), Kenzie Dore (2024) and Julia Gregoire (2025).
  • Has mentored one Clara Swan Female Athlete of the Year winner - Kenzie Dore (2023-24).

COACHING TIMELINE:
  • 2024-Present: (Assistant Softball Coach).

ATHLETIC CAREER:
  • Whitney played four seasons at Seton Hall from 2012-15. 
  • At Seton Hall, Whitney appeared in 168 games, batted over .260 with over 100 hits.
  • At Showhegan Area High School (2008-11) Whitney earned Maine All-State and Central Maine Player of the Year in 2010, helped Showhegan to a conference championship in 2009 and 2010, Eastern Maine Class A Championship in 2009 and a Maine State Class A State Runner-up performance in 2009. 

PERSONAL:
  • A native of Showhegan, Maine (Showhegan Area High School), lives in Bangor. 
  • Graduate from Seton Hall with her B.S. in Biology (2015), and her doctorate in dental medicine from the University of New England in 2019. 
  • Works as a dentist as Bangor Dental Associates.
