Jenn Plourde enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Husson softball team in 2022.
PREVIOUSLY:
Plourde’s coaching career began before graduating from Husson University. She was appointed the head varsity softball coach at Old Town High School in 2012. That year, the Coyotes won their first-ever Eastern Maine Class B Championship and State Class B Championship titles. Coach Plourde has been named Penobscot Valley Conference (PVC) Coach of the Year five times (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2018). The Coyotes have been PVC Champions four times (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and won three State Class B Championships (2012, 2016 and 2017) under her tenure.
PERSONAL:
In three years as a women’s basketball and soccer player, Plourde helped both program’s earn three North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships and NCAA Tournament berths, and two NAC Regular Season Titles with a collective 93-50-1 (.649) overall record from 2007-09.
In soccer, Plourde was a midfielder and goalie, but most of her success on the pitch came inside the goalie box for Coach Keith Bosley. She played in 25 total games (19 as a goalie and six as a midfielder) with 15 starts. Plourde posted a 12-3-0 record with nine shutouts and a 0.91 goals-against average, while only allowing 15 goals in 1489:01 minutes and made 65 saves for an .813 save percentage. She is the Eagles all-time career leader in goals against average and winning percentage (.800), while ranking among the career leaders in shutouts, wins, saves per game (3.42), saves, lowest goals allowed per game average (0.79), goalie minutes played, and goalie games played.
She helped the Eagles win three consecutive NAC Championships and NCAA Tournament berths from 2007-2009, including the program’s first-ever and only NCAA Tournament victory in 2008 over Norwich University by a score of 2-0.
In basketball, Plourde was guard for Hall of Fame head coach Kissy Walker for three seasons, appearing in 55 career games. She tallied 66 points, 31 rebounds, 15 assists, four steals and one block, while shooting 43.1 (22-51) percent from the floor, 41.7 (15-36) percent from behind the arc and 87.5 (7-8) percent from the free throw line. Plourde averaged 1.2 points, 0.6 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.1 steals per game during her career. She helped Husson earn the program’s first NAC regular season title in six seasons in 2009.
Plourde earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Husson in 2010. A native of Howland, Maine, Plourde attended Penobscot Valley High School.
