Will Taylor joined the Husson University men's basketball program as an assistant coach in 2018-19. 

In addition to serving as an assistant coach under head coach Warren Caruso, Taylor also serves as the program's strength & conditioning coach.
 

CAREER AT A GLANCE:

  • Since joining the Eagles coaching staff prior to the 2018-19 season, Taylor has helped lead the Eagles to three North Atlantic Conference Championships and three NCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship appearances.
  • Overall, Taylor has helped lead the Eagles to a 90-55 (.621) record, including a 50-18 (.735) mark in North Atlantic Conference games.
  • Has directed three North Atlantic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Players - Justin Martin (2018-19), Justice Kendall (2021-22) and Jeremy Moronta (2023-24).
  • He has guided numerous Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-State selections - Justin Martin (2018-19), DJ Bussey (2021-22), Justin Thompson (2021-22), Riles Neff (2023-24) and Jeremy Moronta (2023-24).
  • Has mentored three Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-Rookie Team honorees - Justice Kendall (2018-19), Scott Lewis (2019-20) and Andre McCauley (2023-24).
  • He has coached one Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association  All-State Defensive Team selection - Justice Kendall (2021-22).
  • Taylor has helped developed multiple All-North Atlantic Conference honorees - Justin Martin (2018-19), DJ Bussey (2019-20, 2021-22), Justin Thompson (2018-19, 2019-20, 2021-22), Justice Kendall (2021-22, 2022-23), Jeremy Moronta (2022-23, 2023-24) and Riles Neff (2023-24).
  • Taylor has coached one Husson Del Merrill Athlete of the Year - Justin Martin (2018-19).
  • Taylor has tutored one Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Player of the Year Selection - Riles Neff (2023-24).


COACHING TIMELINE:

  • 2018-Present: Husson University (Assistant Men's Basketball Coach).

ATHLETIC CAREER:
  • Taylor played one season at Husson in 1998-99 after transferring from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
  • At Husson, Taylor helped lead the Braves to a Maine Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament title and an appearance in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship.
  • Taylor contributed 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 55.0% from the field, 45.0% from three-point range, and 74.0% from the free throw line over 30 contests in his only season wearing the green and gold.
  • Selected as the Husson Men's Basketball Allan Kenyon Award recipient in 1998-99.
  • Earned All-Maine Athletic Conference first team honors while at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
