Justin Thompson joined the Husson University men's basketball program in 2022-23 as an assistant coach.

CAREER AT A GLANCE:

Since joining coach Caruso's staff before the 2022-23 season, Thompson has helped lead the Eagles to two North Atlantic Conference Championships, two NCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship appearances and a 73-37 (.664) record, including a 49-10 (.831) mark in NAC games.
Thompson has coached multiple All-North Atlantic Conference selections - Justice Kendall (2022-23), Jeremy Moronta (2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25), Riles Neff (2023-24, 2024-25), Scott Lewis (2024-25), Eric Ahlers (2025-26), Andre McCauley (2025-26), Connor Heald (2025-26) and Gil Matondo (2025-26).
Has tutored two North Atlantic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player - Jeremy Moronta (2023-24) and Riles Neff (2024-25).
Thompson has mentored numerous Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-State honorees - Riles Neff (2023-24, 2024-25), Jeremy Moronta (2023-24, 2024-25) and Eric Ahlers (2025-26).

ATHLETIC CAREER:

Thompson was a five-year member of the Husson men's basketball team from 2018-22 as a guard and a member of the exclusive 1,000 career point club.
He finished his career with 1,242 points, 493 rebounds, 115 steals, 264 assists and 22 blocks in 109 games played.
A three-time All-North Atlantic Conference selection, helped Husson to a 73-43 overall record with three North Atlantic Conference regular-season titles, a North Atlantic Conference East Division Championship, two North Atlantic Conference Tournament Championships and two berths into the NCAA Championship tournament.
Earned a spot on the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association all-state second team in 2021-22.
Selected to the North Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team in 20219-20 and 2021-22.
Was a time-time captain for the Eagles and was selected as the Husson Athletics Men's Basketball Eagle Award recipient in 2021-22.
Off the court, Thompson earned North Atlantic Conference Winter/Spring All-Academic Team honors in 2021-22.

PERSONAL:

A native of East Millinocket, Maine (Schenck High School).
Earned a bachelor of science in sport management and a master’s degree in business administration from Husson in 2022.
