Coach Nelson joins the program in 2005 after spending the 2003 season with Adrian College as the Defensive Line and Special Teams Coach. He also worked three years with Marion High School (Michigan). Coach Nelson played four years at Adrian College and was a three year All-Conference performer at Fullback. He played in the All-American Bowl in Minneapolis, MN in 1998.

Coach Nelson earned a BS from Adrian College. He resides in Bangor.
